Kurumurthy (Ammapur)

Village Mahabubnagar district Telangana
NEGATIVE RESULT, recorded deliberately. Kurumurthy, at Ammapur village in Chinnachintakunta mandal, is the largest pilgrimage draw in Mahabubnagar district - the 'poor man's Tirupati', built about 1268 CE by Gopalarayudu of the Mukkera line, developed from 1350, brought under the Endowments department in 1966-68, drawing 15,000-20,000 pilgrims each amavasya, with an annadanam programme running in the temple precinct since the early 1990s and an uddala mandapam dating from 1870. It was checked specifically because Arya Vysya nitya anna satrams cluster at pilgrimage sites, but NO Arya Vysya or Vasavi satram is recorded here in either the Vaasavi register or Telugu Wikipedia; the annadanam is donor-run and not community-specific (donor names appearing in the source are omitted here). 50 km from Mahabubnagar via Devarakadra and Koukuntla.
